At Emerald Communities, we believe the best recognition comes from the people who experience our communities every day. That’s why we are especially proud to share that both of our Life Plan communities—Emerald Heights in Redmond and Heron’s Key in Gig Harbor—have been recognized in the Seattle Times Best of the Pacific Northwest 2025 Awards.
These awards, voted on by readers across the region, shine a spotlight on organizations that deliver excellence, service, and community impact. To have both of our communities honored this year is a true reflection of the vibrant lifestyles, compassionate care, and strong resident-driven cultures that define Emerald Communities.

Emerald Heights: Gold for Independent Living
Emerald Heights was named the Gold Winner for Best Independent Living Community. Since 1992, Emerald Heights has been a trusted choice for seniors seeking a welcoming neighborhood, a wide array of wellness and lifestyle programs, and the long-term peace of mind that comes with a Life Plan Community.
This award is a testament to the incredible residents, dedicated staff, and innovative programming that make Emerald Heights one of the most sought-after senior living communities in the greater Seattle area.

Heron’s Key: Bronze and Silver Honors
Heron’s Key in Gig Harbor also shined in this year’s awards, receiving Bronze for Best Independent Living and Silver for Best Assisted Living. Since opening in 2017, Heron’s Key has grown into a thriving, resident-led community that emphasizes lifelong learning, environmental stewardship, and connection.
These honors highlight the strength of Heron’s Key’s continuum of care—from independent living to assisted living and memory support—ensuring residents can live with confidence and purpose at every stage.
